To my beautiful mummy who's always young at heart. ❤

You often say that the price of the gift is not important, what really matters is the heart behind it. So here's a little piece of my heart... 

From as far back as I can remember (I think since I was about 4 or 5), every time I asked you what you wanted for mother's day, you would say that as long as I'm being a good girl, every day is mother's day. Back then, I may not have understood it, but those few words were instilled in me. And I promise you that I'm trying to make you the happiest mummy every day. 

I read this quote somewhere that said: “As mothers and daughters, we are connected with one another. My mother is the bones of my spine, keeping me straight and true. She is my blood, making sure it runs rich and strong. She is the beating of my heart. I cannot now imagine a life without her.” I dare say, without a doubt, that this quote sums up how I feel about you. 

I'm not sure how many daughters in the world can honestly say this, but you are one of my -for lack of a better word- bestest friend. I love when we have giggly fits over things that no one else seems to understand. I love when we do our laugh-clap all synchronised (you know what I mean. Haha.) I love how we can finish each other's sentence. I love how we say the same things at the same time on soooo many different occasions that I've lost track of how many sodas we owe each other. I love how we can look at each other, make a face and know what the other is thinking, simply because we're usually thinking the same thing. Well the list can go on and on but I'm sure by now, you get the idea. I guess what I really want to say is... I'm grateful for how connected we are to each other and thankful for the close relationship that we have.

You're the best mum I could ask for. There are so many things that you have imparted to me. You've always taught me how to stand up for myself and to speak my mind when it was necessary. You thought me how to deal with the difficult people that I've faced in my life [and will face]  with tact and grace. You thought me how to be my own person and not be ashamed of it, to not be afraid to stand out from the rest. 

When I'm down or discouraged, you were always there to encourage me with your motherly words of wisdom. Thank you for going through my ups and downs with me. You always understood how I felt. You always knew the right words to say. I guess that's why you're mummy. 

Besides that you never failed to encourage me to pursue my dreams and talents. Oftentimes you helped me to see the potential that I have and you showed me what I can do with it. To look for the opportunities and to take it when I can. But you've NEVER forced me to do something that I didn't want to and I'm thankful that you gave me the freedom of choice, always ready to guide me back when I needed to be. But most importantly, you always taught me and reminded me about how important it was for me to be a woman after God's heart. ❤

Since I was little, you were my super mum, the one that can do anything and everything - my role model. As I got older, I realised that my super mum was only human and that meant that not everything could be done. But needless to say, you are still my role model. Every time I think of how selfless you were when you chose to take care of me and Jo while putting your personal hopes and dreams on hold, it moves me to tears. Indeed nothing can compare to a mother's love. ❤ I always marvel at how you manage to juggle everything at one go, but I guess that's one of the super powers that God blessed mothers with. Hehe. I really hope that one day I'll be as good a mum to my kids as you have been to me and Jo so that they will love you as much as [or maybe even more than] me.

I'm thankful that when God made me, He knew that you had to be my mum. You're the best mum that I could ever ask for. (No SMEs needed here. Haha.) I am who I am today because of your guidance and because you were a big influence in my life. I'm thankful for all the sacrifices that you've made for the past 19 years and I know that our relationship will grow even stronger for the years to come no matter how far apart we may be. (I'll even entrust all my wedding planning to you. I promise! Haha.)

To sum it up, I guess what I'm trying to say is... 

Thank you for your selfless love and the sacrifices that you've made. And I'm sorry for the times when I made you cry. The measure of love, guidance and encouragement that you've given me for the past 19 years is so much that I don't think I can ever repay you. BUT I am determined to work hard and do well for uni, to be successful when I come out to work and to continue to grow closer to God each day. I hope that one day I'll be able to make you as proud of me as I am of you [because you're the coolest mum EVER!!! DUH.]

I love you mummy, forever and always, to the moon and back!

Had some mummy and me time today!! :) 

Headed to the immigration to get some things settled. After that, went to eat nasi padang at Warung Nasi Pariaman @North Bridge Road. Thank God we were early, cos the queue here is always very long during lunch hour. Mummy really loves the nasi padang here cos she says that her father used to tapao the food from here for them to eat either that or he'll bring them here to eat. So it was pretty cool, eating what mum used to eat when she was younger. :) 

Needless to say that I sweated quite abit when eating all this food. But it was definitely worth it. #yummy

After that we headed to Bugis and then Somerset for some shopping! Yay. I always love shopping with mummy. Ended up buying mainly basics.

Home after that for dinner. :)

I realised that the food that I had today aren't really the healthiest... but.. you only live once. Hehe.

Work today at JCU Singapore's Open House. (Oh the irony of a Murdoch student working at JCU's open house. Haha) 

Really thankful for the job for a few reasons:

1. It was easy money. SGD60 for about 6 hours. 
2. Being able to sit most of the time, while being in an aircond room during this crazy hot Singapore weather. For those few hours, I remained un-tortured (I don't think this word exists, but for lack of a better word, I'm still using it.) by the hot weather. 
3. The job was fairly easy since we were mostly just giving out stuffed kangaroos [that were so cute and cuddly that you can't help but smile at].
4. I still get to spend time with mummy while working! 

Took some photos before the working started because we couldn't resist the urge. Hehe.

Reached home at 4+ and both of us were so tired we ended up taking naps. 

Dinner at 8 and mum cooked. Hehe. :D Really gonna cherish the last few times that she gets to cook for me. It's gonna be a while before I'll be able to have homecooked food from her soon..

Woke up at 9+ today. Prepped and got ready to go out for a lunch date with the family and Canon James Wong and Sister Esther. The weather was scorching hot. Really can't stand it. :( 

We went to Crystal Jade @Holland Village for lunch.

Sister Esther reminded me about how she'd seen me running around in my "Banana's in Pajamas" pajamas and now I've grown so much. Believe it or not, they kinda watched my mother and I grow up. Wow... #epiphany

It's Easter Sunday today! :) So since it's a special Sunday, I decided to wear my sister dress and sister bracelet to church today. ❤

After service, headed to Just Acia @Dhoby Xchange for lunch and fellowship with the cg and new friends.

 After lunch, we headed to Homeground @Prinsep Street to play LOL with some of the boys. First time playing LAN in Singapore. Haha. Sadly it's triggering my old addiction. I'm currently itching to play LOL.

After that, headed to Ichiban Boshi @Velocity Novena with Jo to meet the parents for dinner! :)

Thank God for the 80SGD voucher that we had because it led to one of the largest Japanese meal that we've ever had! I say, "The family that feast together, stays together". Hehe. It was definitely a satisfying meal! 

Looking at this makes me hungry again!

After that we chanced up Giordano's moving out sale. Managed to get a new pair of jeans and another long-sleeved button-up shirt for myself at 19SGD each. They're added to my Aussie pile.

It started raining sometime after that. I fell down. :( The bruise is still there. 

Reached home at 5+ and then headed out again with the fam to meet Aunty Margaret, Uncle Sam and Judith for dinner at Todai @MBS. :D It was a buffet so I ate heaps. D:

 Ended dinner at about 10.45 and headed home by bus. Reached home at about 12. Super tired.

So this was supposed to be a 15 Day Introductions Challenge for Tumblr.. But I tweaked it into a 15 questions introduction so that I won't have to spend 15 days on it. :)

1. What is your name? Were you named after someone else? Do you like your name? 
Jannah. My mum found this name in a Christian name book (Unfortunately, I lost the name book while I was still in kindie so.. No Proof for that.. =/ ). It's derived from the name Hannah. Yes. I like my name. Why, you ask? Well, just because my mum chose it. And if she loves the name and the meaning of it, I don't see why I shouldn't. :)

2. Do you have any pets? If yes, what kinds, and what are their names? If not, why don’t you have any pets?
No. I don't have any pets.. The closest I had to pets were fishes in a tank.. Where you can't play with them, pet them or even communicate with them.. If you want, you could have a staring contest with them though. Let's see who blinks first. ;) As for the reason why we don't have pets... We voted. Majority rules. No pets.

3. Do you like to cook? What’s your favorite food? Are you good at cooking?
Ok.. So I don't really cook much. But I found that I actually quite enjoyed cooking! :O I guess it was the sense of achievement I got at the end. The feeling of accomplishing something and doing it well. :) My favourite food? Hmm... I ♥ Sushi! :D However I also ♥ Mash Potatoes!! Yummy comfort food! =3 Well, I trust my mum's standards (She's an amazing cook btw!).. So, yes.. I suppose so? Heehee. x3

4. Where do you live? Have you ever lived in another country from where you do currently?
Current homeground: Singapore. :) Yes I have.. A few others. The country I was born in, the country I spent most of my life in and the country where I grew mentally.

5. Have you ever met a famous person? Who was it?
Heehee.. Hossan Leong! My absolute role model when it comes to the industry!! IMHO, the best of the best!! He ate at the restaurant that I was interning at. So I got a chance to serve him. :B

6. What do you do in your free time?
I blog, listening to music, do nail art, read books, play my guitar, hang out with friends and spend quality time with them. :) Well, the list can go on further, but I'll rather not bore you guys. :)

7. Do you like sports? What are your favorite sport?
Haha. Not particularly. I think swimming's fun but I haven't done it in AGES. One day I want to try rock climbing! :)

8. How old are you? Do you like being the age you are?
18. The coming-of-age year for most societies. I don't mind being this age.

9. What are your hobbies?
Playing the guitar, nail art, reading and making new friends. :D

10. Do you have a religion? What is it?
Christian! Protestant. :)

6. English, Chinese, Malay, Cantonese, Basic French, Basic Vietnamese.

12. Who do you live with?
My awesome family of 4. Daddy, mummy and Jo. :)

NIGHT! But my parents are still trying to convert me to the bright side! Haha!

14. Would you want to be famous? Why or why not?
I would rather be influential than famous. But usually when you're famous you tend to be more influential than when you're not. So I guess I don't mind as long as it assists me in impacting lives!

15. What are five things people don’t know about you?

- I actually hated art in primary school. I had little patience fpr it and always felt like everything I did was never nice enough. Really didn't like it at all. If I drew something, and I felt something didn't look right.. I'll throw it away. =X So it's kinda funny how I've the patience to do nail art right now.. heehee.

- My close friends are my life! When I'm committed to a relationship with them, I stand by their side and fight for them. Yeaa.. That's what I do. Don't wanna self-praise but I'm loyal. 

- I ever considered a career in music. Haha.

- I LOVE my mummy's home cooked food TTM!

- I ♥♥♥ my lil bro ALOT! ♥
